Chewy got hurt :(

Last night Chewy ran out and for about a few hours was no where to be found. The dark and cold was setting in, and we drove all over looking for him. Friends and family joined in and we finally found him limping back towards our neighborhood.

We still don't know for sure what happened to him - the vet didn't rule out getting hit, but we think he got into a fight. (Knowing Chewy, he likely bullied himself into it). Now he has nasty bruises all over his shoulder and underside along with an open flesh wound.

He's now moping around the house as I follow him to make sure he doesn't bleed on everything! (The vet says it needs to stay open - I don't know). Nonetheless, he seems to be recovering fine and enjoying his plethera of medications.

Saylor's 1!

Saylor Mackenzie turned 1!

Saylor was fortunate to be able celebrate her birthday more than once this year. We were able celebrate it with family and friends during our trip to Florida. Officially though, her 1st birthday was this past Sunday, the 21st of September.

She had family and friends over to the house and was spoiled with more presents and lots of attention! Jamie worked hard to give her a "lady bug" themed party with lots of lady bug cupcakes.

Saylor gives a huge "THANKS!" (which sounds alot like "hi" right now) to everyone who helped spoil her rotten on all of her birthdays!

Vacation 2008

After 2.5 years, we finally made it back to Florida for vacation. Even with an extended 2 week vacation, we still struggled to get everything in. We're sorry we didn't get the chance to catch up with everyone that we had hoped to.

We had a great time on our trip. We first drove down to Salt Lake City a day ahead of our flight out. We were able to meet up with Aaron and Stephanie and had a nice evening with them. The next morning we flew out to Atlanta where we stayed a few days with the Huesmans.

Our stay in Atlanta was great. The area was beautiful and the weather was great. We mostly kicked back, but were able to get some site seeing in including a tour of the CNN Headquarters, and the Atlanta Zoo. We were able to finally meet Erin Noel, and she is simply precious.

We then flew down to Orlando as Hurricane Faye made her way north. We lucked out with some more great weather as we took Saylor to Disney World. The parks were unusually slow, which was great - we had no waits for anything! Our second of Disney, Sandy and Matty met up with us. Our luck finally ran out on the weather and we got soaked, but we had a great time anyway.

We then were able to spend some time with the Dufresne's and meet their boys Lucas and Benjamin. We had a great time with them and enjoyed a fun day grilling and catching up.

We then headed over to Ormond Beach and got lucky with another week of great weather. We stayed with Mom & Dad at their timeshare and had a great time at the beach. Mostly, we just enjoyed a lot of R&R with the exception of a few Wii tennis and bowling challenges. We made a run to see the Bass family's new home at the Villages and have dinner with the whole family. We also were able to make a run to Melbourne to have dinner with Saylor's Great Grandparents.

Eventually our fun had to end, and we made our way back to Orlando to catch our flight back to Salt Lake City. With the exception of missing a few friends that we hoped to catch up with, it was perfect trip and we can't wait to do it again!
